The Stylists / Taryn Cox

Taryn Cox the founder of THE WIFE, describes her style, Refined, high end and old school style. I try to stay consistent by dressing classic with European influence and elegance.

I first got introduced to Taryn’s blog The Wife back in 09 when I stopped her for a photo. And when I stepped into her home for our photo shoot it was exactly how I envisioned it, very tasteful and organized. 40′s music was playing from upstairs and the whole place had a pleasant scent from the rose diptyque candle.
We could have been shooting all day with her great collection of handmade dresses that Taryn and her mom created, but we only had two hours..

What do you treasure most in your closet?
All my handmade dresses my Mom and I have designed and sewed. And all my yearly investment pieces.

Who’s closet would you raid?
Alexa Chung
Olivia Palermo
Diane Kruger

Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?
I would love to appear as dazzling and worldly like Grace Kelly or Jacqueline Kennedy who proudly flaunted their femininity. But I also get inspiration from English Vogue and reading my daily fashion blogs and admiring street style.

Describe your perfect day in LA?
Summertime and sunny starting the day off with breakfast at Tavern with the Sunday Paper and C magazine. Then a Power walk with my best friend in Santa Monica. Head to the Brentwood Country Mart for a fresh juice at Pressed Juicery, walk next door for fresh flowers from Botany and stationary shopping at Sugar Paper. The Evening would be something I organized for all my friends… a picnic from Joan’s on Third to be enjoyed at a fun concert at the Hollywood Bowl or Cinespia at The Hollywood Forever Cemetery. And of course lots of fun photos!
