It’s Fat Tuesday (Fettisdagen), also known as the official semla day!

Semla is a wheat bun spiced with cardamom, scooped out and filled with almond paste and topped with whipped cream and a dusting of powdered sugar.

I was so happy to find them here in LA at Food Perfected.

Checking out some birthday cakes this week and stopped by Susina Bakery and Cafe.  I tried the  Berry Blossom cake, three layers of vanilla sponge cake filled with white chocolate mousse and fresh berries. Decorated with crumbled meringue  and white chocolate shavings. Do I have to say more??

 Stopped by Intelligentsia in Silverlake for a cappuccino. Good cappuccino and a fun place to  just people watch. They are also having a grand opening party of their new  location in Venice May 22.

Just passed another Leonidas Fresh Belgian Chocolates and I could swear they are following me.
This time it was in Santa Monica near  the Promenade.
